Handgun Hunters Competition 2025 – Ultradots in Action

Every Father’s Day weekend in Newcastle, Wyoming, the Handgun Hunters Charitable Foundation (HHCF) hosts the Handgun Hunters Competition (HHC)—the largest gathering of handgun hunters in the world. The event combines marksmanship training, camaraderie, and friendly competition, all under real-world hunting conditions.

The 2025 match marked HHC’s fifth year and carried extra meaning, honoring the late Mark Hampton, a legendary handgun hunter, Safari Club International record holder, and mentor who played a key role in shaping the event.

The Match Format

The course of fire is designed to mirror hunting scenarios, with targets ranging from 150 yards for revolvers and rimfires to 400 yards for single-shot handguns. Eight stages challenged shooters across divisions: rimfire, revolver/pistol irons, revolver/pistol optics, and single shot. Accuracy is key, with first-shot hits earning the highest scores.

This year’s winners included:

  • Iron Sights: Brian Drake

  • Revolver Optics: Mladen Simovic

  • Rimfire: Jeff Vicars

  • Single Shot: Mladen Simovic

Ultradot on the Line

While the article itself doesn’t mention Ultradot by name, sharp readers will notice our presence: Ultradot sights can be spotted in several photos, and our banner is visible in the background. We’re proud to see Ultradots trusted by competitors across divisions, reinforcing our long-standing role in the handgun hunting community.

Shout-outs

We’re especially proud to highlight two familiar faces from the Ultradot family:

  • Mladen Simovic not only competed but won two titles this year—Revolver Optics and Single Shot. Mladen has even written for our blog in the past, sharing his passion and expertise with our community.

  • Bridger, our newest team member, made his mark on the optics line. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead for this talented young shooter.

Looking Ahead

As the steel came down at the close of the match, planning for HHC 2026 was already underway. We’re honored to be a part of this tradition and to support hunters pushing the limits of what’s possible with a handgun.
